Welcome!
Nordleigh is St. Olaf and Carleton Colleges’ little piece of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA). What’s that? Well, it’s a place for nice people who are interested in the Middle Ages (and probably a little crazy) to have some good fun. We sing, fence, make medieval clothes, do calligraphy and illumination, dance, fight, research neat stuff, create period personas for ourselves, go to events, and generally have a jolly old time together. Since we’re a sub-group of the Barony of Nordskogen, we can tap into their knowledge and talents too. So if Nordleigh doesn’t have anyone who, say, knows how to build a medieval trebuchet, and you’ve always wanted to build one yourself, chances are we can find someone who does know how— and we can all have even more fun learning a cool new thing (without, in this case, pillaging the Physics department)!
So, does this sound good? If you think so, you should investigate a little more. Nordleigh meets regularly during the school year, and we'll be at the clubs and societies fairs at both St. Olaf and Carleton to give you more information about us. Stop by and see us, you might even be really glad that you did! In the meantime, check out some other SCA websites. Or, if you have Nordleigh-specific questions, you could e-mail one of our officers. Thanks for visiting!
